All of our boarding requirements

At The Little Tail at Red Hill Animal Health Center,  we go the extra mile for our guests.  Boarding hosts are on site 7 days a week from 6:45 am to 8 pm to ensure the optimum care for your family member. In addition, our veterinary staff are here Monday - Saturday,  and on-call on Sunday, should an illness or emergency arise while your pet is staying with us.  Choose from doggie daycare, standard canine and feline suites, or the VIP treatment complete with a 30-minute "river walk"* and frozen peanut butter yogurt treat in the afternoon.

*Please note that on days when there are extreme temperatures, we may not be able to do walks.

Our Boarding Requirements

All kennel guests must be current and up-to-date on vaccines. The Little Tail guidelines are as follows:

Canine guests:

  • Current Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough)*. Bordetella must have been given within the past 6 months and 72 hours before arrival.
  • We do recommend the canine influenza vaccine but it is not required.
  • Currently, we do not require ectoparasite prevention but it should be considered for dogs that will be allowed to co-mingle with other dogs.

Feline guests:

  • Current Rabies and Distemper*

*Under certain circumstances a pet cannot receive vaccines for medical reasons. If your pet cannot be vaccinated for any reason there are options for special isolated boarding. Additional charges will apply.

Medications: All prescription medications must be in the original veterinary-labeled container with instructions for administration. Supplements must be labeled with the pet's name and administration instructions.

Personal Items:  We will accept your pet's personal items from home. All personal items should be clearly labeled with your pet's first and last name.

If your pet is not picked up on the designated pick-up date there will be an additional charge of $25 added to the nightly rate.

*Please note - nightly rates are subject to increase during Peak boarding times around major holidays and spring break.  Please ask a team member for specific details.
